Welcome

Dear Clients

We thank you for your patience during these times as we continue to work at reduced hours.

IRS update on the economic impact payment:

Tax filers with adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns will receive the full payment. For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced by $5 for each $100 above the $75,000/$150,000 thresholds. Single filers with income exceeding $99,000 and $198,000 for joint filers with no children are not eligible. Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who are otherwise not required to file a tax return are also eligible and will not be required to file a return.

Eligible taxpayers who filed tax returns for either 2019 or 2018 will automatically receive an economic impact payment of up to $1,200 for individuals or $2,400 for married couples and up to $500 for each qualifying child.

Our recommendation is that If you have a filing requirement for 2018 or 2019, you should file and include you bank account information.  IRS is working on a website where taxpayers will be able to submit their banking information for most other situations where filing a tax return is not required.

We encourage our business client to head to https://www.sba.gov/ to learn about various disaster and loan assistance option.  One loan that we find most of our clients should qualify for is here https://covid19relief.sba.gov/#/ .  Feel free to reach out to us for consulting and guidance.

Stay safe,

Dear clients,
We have a couple of updates to share.
Tax filing dead lines extended: Franchise Tax Board has extended the California deadline to 06/15.  It is understood at this time that IRS is extending the tax filing and payment deadline to 07/15.  We await official guidance from IRS to confirm this announcement made by the Treasury Secretary last night.  At this time, we will operate with 06/15 as the deadline to avoid any confusion (between the two deadlines) and additional paperwork.  It is also possible that FTB will extend the filing and payment deadlines until 07/15.  We will keep you posted of any new developments.
Due to the shelter in place order by the California governor, we will continue limited operations to support our clients in areas deemed essential per the governor’s order.  Payroll services will continue to operate normally.  We will continue to perform bookkeeping and tax preparation activities but at a very limited rate.
Per our prior announcement on March 16th, the date for return to normal operations is no longer 04/06.  The shelter in place order by the State of California has no date attached to it.
The office is open only for the delivery and pick up of documents and signatures.  Please submit your documents and signatures electronically whenever possible.
Stay safe.
Raul Leon, EA
