Ana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Option in Accounting. As a bilingual Accountant Associate, Ana works hand on hand with business owners to keep their books updated and accurate throughout the year. Ana regularly assists clients with the setup of their payroll service and diverse registrations with federal and state agencies.
Prentice began working for Books and Taxes in 2014 as a full charge bookkeeper. He is responsible for entering all transaction to client’s books, reconciling bank statements, and keeping track of accounts payable and accounts receivable when necessary. Prentice was in the Army Reserve for 8 years where he worked as an Administrative Specialist. Prentice attended Heald College where he earned his certificate in Accounting. During his free time he enjoys watching movies and sports.
Prentice is also a Notary Public. Drop on by whenever you need a document notarized.
Harumi is a California Tax Education Council (CTEC) registered tax preparer. Harumi has been preparing tax returns for 15 years for individuals and small businesses. She started in 2001 with the H&R Block and joined Books & Taxes in 2004. She also assists in bookkeeping duties when time permits. Harumi is currently studying for he Enrolled Agent (E.A) examination – we wish her luck. Harumi is able to help clients in English, Spanish and Japanese. Harumi is married and has a daughter. When not busy being a mom, she enjoys reading, gardening, and the outdoors.
Luis is a CTEC tax preparer and works closely with Raul on completing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. He also help with any bookkeeping tasks that are needed. In 2015, Luis earned a Bachelor of. Science in Business Administration with an option in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with an option in Accounting. During his free time he enjoys hiking and Mountain Biking and spending quality time with his family.
Raul Leon, EA
Raul has over 20 years of experience preparing tax returns. He founded Books & Taxes in 2001 and the company has been growing since.
In 2003 Raul became an Enrolled Agent (EA). An EA is a federal-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels – examination, collection, and appeals – of the Internal Revenue Service.
In 2011 Raul graduated as a National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI) Fellow. The National Tax Practice Institute is the nation’s premier tax representation training program and is sponsored by the National Association of Enrolled Agents. NTPI’s mission is to develop and enhance the knowledge and skills needed to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.
Raul always tries to explain the tax code in simple terms and simplify processes as much as practical. He is always looking for options and keeps the clients best interest in mind.
Dalia supports both bookkeeping and payroll functions and is responsible for keeping track of payroll liabilities. Dalia received a certificate in accounting in Mexico and she currently continues her accounting studies at Laney College in Oakland. During her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball and she likes to sing.
